1. Overview
This Return and Refund Policy (“Policy”) outlines the terms under which payments made within The Leader Board mobile application (the “App”) are treated. This Policy forms part of our broader Terms of Use and is binding on all users of the App.
By using the App or making any payment within the App, you agree to the terms of this Policy in full.
Do not use the App if you do not agree to this policy.
Do not make a payment unless you understand and accept that there will be no return.
2. Nature of the Product
The Leader Board is an entertainment-only platform where users voluntarily spend money to improve their ranking on a publicly viewable leaderboard. Users do not receive any physical or digital goods, services, features, or credits in exchange for their spending.
All spending:
- Is reflected only as “points” on the App leaderboard
- Grants no functionality, privileges, or status other than leaderboard position
Cannot be exchanged for any other benefit or withdrawn as currency
3. No Refund Policy
All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances.
By making a payment through the App, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your payment is made voluntarily
- You will not receive any product or service in return
- You are not entitled to a refund or chargeback
- You waive your right to request a refund under any consumer protection or refund law related to goods or services not delivered, including but not limited to:
- South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
- EU Consumer Rights Directive
- U.S. State and Federal Refund Requirements
- Google Play and Apple App Store refund channels (unless required by platform-specific policy)
4. Payment Platform Responsibilities
All payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe and the native payment processors of Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Any issues related to billing or unauthorized charges should be directed to the relevant payment platform. However, please be aware:
- Stripe and other third-party processors may also apply no refund policies for entertainment-based services
- We are not responsible for the processing, denial, or reversal of refunds requested through third-party platforms
5. Billing Disputes and Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute without valid grounds, we reserve the right to:
- Permanently ban your account
- Remove your rank and profile data
- Deny future access to the App
- Pursue legal action or report your activity to anti-fraud databases
We reserve all rights in law and contract to protect the integrity of the platform from fraudulent refund activity.
6. Exceptions – Technical Errors Only
Refunds may be issued only at our sole discretion and only in the following exceptional cases:
- You were charged multiple times for the same transaction due to a system error
- A processing error by our payment partner (e.g., Stripe) resulted in unintended duplicate payments
If you believe your payment falls into this category, please contact our support team at [Insert Support Email] within 7 days of the transaction. Include:
- Your username
- Transaction ID
- Date and time of transaction
- Screenshot or copy of the receipt
Even in such cases, a refund is not guaranteed and is subject to review.
7. Legal Disclaimers
- You acknowledge that this App is offered for entertainment purposes only.
- You agree that all purchases are made with full knowledge of the absence of reward or tangible value.
- You accept that this business model is not equivalent to gambling, trading, investing, or value-based exchange.
This Policy complies with South African and international e-commerce laws to the extent applicable to services that deliver no product or benefit in return.
8. Jurisdiction
This Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising in relation to this Policy shall be resolved in the courts of Durban, South Africa, regardless of your country of residence.
